KAREL VALTER
Karel Valter, 1980 in Prag geboren, studierte Querflöte und Dirigieren am Prager Konservatorium, Traversflöte an der Schola Cantorum Basiliensis und Dirigieren an der Musikhochschule Luzern. Als Soloflötist tritt er regelmässig mit dem Ensemble Café Zimmermann, den Barockorchestern La Cetra und Capriccio und dem Venice Baroque Orchestra auf. Im Gebiet der Kammermusik beschäftigt er sich vorzugsweise mit frühromantischer Literatur für Traversflöte und Gitarre in alter Mensur. Seine Auftritte werden von diversen europäischen Rundfunkgesellschaften mitgeschnitten, CDs hat er für Tudor (CH), Deutsche Grammophon und Ars Produktion (D) aufgenommen. Als Dirigent arbeitet er am Theater Basel, dem Teatro Arriaga Bilbao, mit dem Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, dem Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, La Cetra und anderen. Karel Valter führt ein auf alte Musik spezialisiertes Tonstudio in Waldenburg (CH) und ist als CD-Produzent für diverse Orchester, Ensembles und Labels tätig.
Karel Valter was born in 1980 in Prague. He studied flute and conducting at the Prague Conservatory, transverse flute at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, and conducting at the Lucerne College of Music. He appears regularly as solo flutist with the ensemble Café Zimmermann, the Baroque orchestras La Cetra and Capriccio, and the Venice Baroque Orchestra. In the area of chamber music, he has a predilection for early nineteenth century transverse flute and guitar literature. His concerts have been recorded for broadcast by many European radio networks, and he can be heard on CDs released on the Tudor (Switzerland), Deutsche Grammophon, and Ars Produktion (Germany) labels. As a conductor, he has worked at the Basel Theater, the Teatro Arriaga Bilbao, with the Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, and La Cetra, among others. Karel Valter runs a recording studio specializing in early music in Waldenburg (Switzerland), and is also active as a CD producer for various orchestras, ensembles, and labels.
